Research Grants for Doctoral Candidates and Young Academics and Scientists

Application deadline: 1 October
Applications can only be considered if the research project is connected with a doctorate (in your home country or in Germany) with a term of at least 12 months.
There are no grants for Postdocs. You may find facility possibilities under the following addresses: www.funding-guide.de or www.research-in-germany.de.
German studies students enrolled in an M.Phil. degree programme can be considered for this grants programme.
Applicants who fulfill all application conditions and having submitted their complete application documents will be invited for an interview with the Selection committee in New Delhi at the end of November.

Bilateral Exchange of Academics

Application deadline is to be found under the current announcement: www.daaddelhi.org
Postdoctoral academics and scientists from India working at the research institutes of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), the University Grants Commission (UGC), or at the Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT), and postdoctoral academics and scientists from Germany working at universities or university-related research institutes can, within the scope of these bilateral agreements between the DAAD and the above mentioned organisations, be invited to Germany or India, respectively, to carry out joint research projects or to complete research stays. The partner organisations nominate selected candidates for the DAAD and rank these accordingly.
Lecture trips and conference visits cannot be funded.
Applications by Indian academics and scientists have to be submitted to CSIR, UGC or the IITs.
Applications by German academics and scientists have to be submitted to the DAAD, Dept. 425.

University Summer Course Grants for Foreign Students and Graduates Literary Competition

Application deadline: 15 October
Grants for Bachelor and Master students from all disciplines taking a German course at university.
Duration: 3 or 4 weeks in Germany.
Knowledge of German according to the classification B1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

Applicants must have Indian citizenship.

WISE – Working Internships for Science and Engineering
Application deadline: 1 November
Grants for Bachelor Students from certain universities for two or three months lasting study visits in the fields of natural sciences or engineering running between May and August.

IIT-Master-Sandwich-Scholarships

Application deadline: 31 March
Scholarships for Master students from the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) in order to prepare their Master’s thesis at one of the TU9 universities (www.tu9.de)
Duration: 7 months (September till March)

IIM-Master-Sandwich-Scholarships

Application deadline: Individual application deadlines at the IIMs. All applications must have been submitted by the IIMs to the DAAD Office in New Delhi till 31 March
Grants for MBA students from the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) for one semester study visits at certain economic and management universities in Germany.

Facilitation for highly qualified graduates to do a Master’s degree (LL.M.) in European Law at one of the selected German Universities.
