As per the official press release announcement from central government on muharram holiday, all Central Government Administrative Offices located at Delhi/New Delhi shall remain closed on 15th November, 2013 on account of Muharram (in place of 14th November, 2013).
After the Chief Kazi’s letter to the state government of tamilnadu, the officialls announced that all state Government Administrative Offices located at Tamilnadu shall remain closed on 15th November, 2013 on account of Muharram (in place of 14th November, 2013)
The change in muharram holiday 2013 will also applicable to the following states in india includes; Andhra Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Goa, Gujarat, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Jharkhand, karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Odisha, Orissa, Punjab, Rajasthan, sikkim, Tripura, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and West Bengal. It is also applicable to the following Union Territories includes; Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Chandigarh, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Daman and Diu, Lakshadweep, Delhi and Puducherry (Pondicherry)
Earlier in 2012, the holiday on the occasion of Muharram in 2013 was announced on Thursday the 14th November, 2013. It is because of sighting of the Moon.
